Sora Park Tanjasiri, PhD, MPH
Sora is Professor of Epidemiology at the University of California, Irvine, and Associate Director for Cancer Health Disparities and Community Engagement at the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. She is a nationally recognized researcher in cancer disparities among racial and ethnic populations, with a focus on cancer prevention and early detection in Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. |
George Keoki Shigematsu, MS, Treasurer
George is a retired Administrator and lead of the Special Education Program at Garden Grove Unified School District. George was a teacher and administrator at various school districts as well as an active member and leader in several Hawaiian and Pacific Islander clubs and associations. |
Tu-Uyen Nguyen, Ph.D., MPH, Secretary
Tu-Uyen is Associate Professor of Asian American Studies at the California State University, Fullerton. Tu-Uyen leads several research studies regarding ethnicity and health as well as a National Youth Empowerment Program. Tu-Uyen is involved in several Vietnamese American organizations including Vietnamese American Arts and Letters Association and Vietnamese American International Film Festival. |
Rob Liu, MS
Rob is a Chief Data Scientist with the US Navy leading the AI/ML strategic initiatives at the Naval laboratory. Rob also has a great deal of experience in finance industry and data analytics previously working at Union Bank as their Director of Data Science and in analytics and risk management for Deloitte. |
James Lee, MA
James is the Managing Director of Retail Strategy at Bank of Hope. James has more than 30 years in the banking and financial industry. For 11 years, as a Regional Manager and Senior Vice-President at East West Bank, James was responsible for overseeing 11 branches in Orange County and San Diego and managing commercial business development team to acquire, expand, and retain commercial banking clients. He worked on various special projects to bring process improvement and infrastructure transformation at East West Bank. James H. Lee is originally from South Korea and lived in Southern California for the past 38 years. James serves also as a pastor at a local church in Chino CA. |

Alexander Kim is Founder & Principal of Three Kings Public Affairs, a government, business & community affairs consulting company helping with clients with accessing the government and providing outreach to community leaders in the Southern California region. As an entrepreneur, he is involved with two start-up companies as Public Affairs Director of Rezistor Films making digital content for clients and Co-Founder of Titan Institute to plan to train talented high school students find quality careers in the growing high tech industry. Alexander graduated with a MBA with honors from Pepperdine University, a Network of Korean Americans Fellow at USC School of Social Work, and attended U.C. Irvine where he co-founded & served as its first President of the UCI Korean American Alumni Chapter. |
W. Cherry Li-Bugg, Ph.D.
Currently serving as Vice Chancellor of Educational Services and Technology for the North Orange County Community College District, Dr. W. Cherry Li-Bugg aka Dr. Cherry is a long-time community college administrator with a dynamically creative vision of life and work. Her approach to people, family, friends or colleagues alike, is engaging, warm and positive. She believes that life is to be lived, not endured. She wrote her doctoral dissertation on Asian American leadership in the community colleges and is vested in helping Asian Americans succeed in higher education and beyond. She is a fervent reader, a lover of films and good food, and always engaged in bettering her practices in healthy living. Dr. Cherry is adept at change management, enamored with innovative solutions to helping institutions serving their students more and better and is an educational leader with integrity, vision and a high sense of purpose. |
Minh Luong, Esq.

Jessica Fernandez
Jessica Fernandez is a Government Relations Manager at Southern California Edison (SCE) where she leads external affairs strategies in Orange County. Jessica has 15 years of experience working on political campaigns, legislative advocacy, and external affairs in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. Prior to joining SCE, Jessica served as Senior Director of Communications and External Affairs at a children’s health policy nonprofit organization. Previously, she served as Senior Legislative Advisor to former U.S. Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Chapman University and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from University of California, Riverside. |
Peter Chang has a background in entrepreneurial endeavors and nonprofit expertise. Most recently, he was the Executive Director at Unconditional, a start-up nonprofit dedicated to senior and special needs dogs. Prior to that, he was the Chief Executive Officer at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center (PMMC) where he elevated the organization’s animal welfare programs, collaborative research initiatives, and science-based education curriculum. Peter was also the founding Executive Director of the Child Creativity Lab. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Entrepreneurial Studies from University of Southern California, a MBA from University of Rochester, and an MPH from UCLA.
