American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Scholarship
Fund
The OCAPICA/United
Way AAPI Scholarship Fund offers scholarships
to Asian American & Pacific Islander high
school and college students who demonstrate
significant merit in academics, workplace, and/or
community involvement. Twenty students will
be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship
to offset their expenses at a two- or four-year
accredited institution .
The scholarship
is funded by Orange County United Way and is
administered by the Orange County Asian and
Pacific Islander Community Alliance (OCAPICA)
in partnership with Asian American Senior Citizens
Service Center, The Cambodian Family, Community
Action Partnership of Orange County, Japanese
American Citizens League-Southeast Los Angeles
North Orange County (SELANOCO) Chapter, Kababayan
Alumni of UC Irvine, Korean American Coalition-Orange
County, National Pacific Islander Educator Network,
Orange County Korean American Health Information
and Education Center, Orange County Korean-U.S.
Citizens League, Organization of Chinese Americans-Orange
County, Pacific Islander Health Partnership,
Project MotiVATe, South Asian Network, Taiwanese
American Citizens League-Orange County, UCLA
Higher Opportunity Program for Education, Union
of Vietnamese Student Associations of Southern
California, Vietnamese American Public Affairs
Committee-Southern California.

American Cervical Cancer Awareness Contest
"Do
Vui Co Thuong"
In honor
of Cervical Cancer Awareness month in January,
OCAPICA is providing a contest about cervical
cancer awareness for the Vietnamese American
community. Participants that get the most answers
correct will have an opportunity to win one
of the 12 cash prizes. All forms must be either
fax or postmarked by Tuesday, March
13, 2007 (deadline extended)
to the OCAPICA office. Participants must be
present at Nguoi Viet Conference Room (14775
Moran St. , Westminster, CA 92683) on Friday,
March 16, 2007 from 6:30PM-8:30PM to receive
prize. There will be entertainment, refreshments,
and free music CD giveaways.
